Welcome to the Full Sail IMK blog! The purpose of this blog is to show IMK students the importance of blogs in marketing. As an Introduction to Marketing student, you will have the opportunity to learn how to develop your own blog from scratch.

You may ask yourself, “Why should I start a blog?” Well, it’s quite simple. In addition to the significant impact blogs have on marketing and consumer behavior, there are many benefits to blogging.

First, blogs give writers the opportunity for self-reflection. Your blog will allow you to see your growth and accomplishments. Over time, bloggers develop a vast body of published work. As you reflect on your previous posts, it will be easy to see how much your intellectual and writing skills have improved over time. Your blog will give you the opportunity to express yourself through words, images and video.

Blogs can be shared with others, such as:

• Peers – who can comment and provide constructive feedback
• Instructors – who are interested and invested in your growth
• Potential employers – who can see a body of your published work and insights
• Parents – who can follow your educational experiences

Additionally, a blog will help you develop your own personal brand.

• You will become an “expert” on your topic
• Each post is “published” online
• Fans and potential employers can follow your blog posts
• Blogs can be accessed by everyone – networking opportunities will open. Viewers may ask to use the content you develop in other blogs/web pages
